Thank You January 28, 2010 Ladies and Gentlemen: I personally want to thank you for helping us fight car theft in the district thus far. Right now car theft in the district is 62% lower than it was last year at this time. I know part of the reason for this success is that you are not leaving your cars unattended while warming them up. We have 15 cars stolen in the district compared to 39 at this time last year. This is not perfect therefore we still have work to do. Car thieves are still out there but you are helping us tremendously by not leaving your cars warming and unattended. Car break-ins are down also compared to last year but are still a concern. They are down 32%; this tells us that we are not leaving our personal items in our vehicles to be stolen as often as we did last year. Please keep telling your neighbors to pay attention to these issues and keep up the good work. Now Burglaries are down but not by many (9) but that’s better than being up. We had two nasty burglaries yesterday in the Dog Town neighborhood 6800 Block of Wise and the 1000 Block of Childress. The burglars kicked in the rear doors of the homes and tore up the place taking electrical appliance’s ( TV’s, Computers’, X-Box’s) these individuals were utilizing possible a dark colored Van, however you know they can change vehicles from day to day. Possibly 3 to 4 black males and 1 white male. Pay attention to the area and your blocks and make sure you dial 911 immediately for any suspicious behavior. This is how we caught the guys last year; it started with a 911 call. Remember we are a team and we need your eyes and ears to help us be the best we can be. Overall crime is down in our district 36%, this is not good enough lets keep the pressure on the criminals. Do not hesitate to call us (911)! North Hampton, South Hampton, and Southwest Garden are having Burglary issues that concern me and car theft. Help us clear up these issues. Watch your neighbor’s homes and lock your garages. Vacant homes for sale are being broken into and copper pipe is being stolen. Pay attention to homes that are for sale, if you see any suspicious behavior call. Respectfully, Captain Ronnie Robinson Commander Second District

Reminders November 19, 2009
I like to remind the residents and business owners of the Second District, with the cold weather and holidays upon us, now is a good time to remind people to take steps to make sure your daily routine and holidays aren’t spoiled by criminals. One step to take is to refrain from warming up your car unattended and out of sight. The past has shown that vehicles left unattended warming up have a greater chance of being stolen. Remember to “PARK SMART” keep valuables, loose change and items of value out of sight. Lock your car and if you place items in your truck, do so before arriving at your next destination. With your help and support we can effectively keep your neighborhood safe. Please share and alert your neighbors who do not have e-mail to help us help you. Remember if you see anything suspicious do not hesitate to call 911. Sincerely, Captain Ronnie Robinson Commander Second District |

Update November 5, 2009
Ladies and Gentlemen: I attended our weekly Comp-Stat session today and for the first time this year I was able to report that our district had a decrease in burglaries for the 4 week reporting period. Hopefully this trend will continue! We are receiving more 911 calls concerning suspicious people and suspicious activity which I believe is mostly responsible for the decrease. Your eyes and ears and getting more involved with reporting the suspicious activity in your community is exactly what we need to put these criminals in jail that don’t belong in district 2. Thank you for calling and let’s continue to apply pressure on crime. Remember the winter weather is approaching therefore don’t leave your cars un-attended while warming them up for work in the mornings. This will help stop the stolen car problem we had last year during the winter months. Be aware of your surroundings while shopping and going to and from the stores located in the community. I am putting more officers around the stores and paying overtime for additional details for the shopping season. You will see more police at the stores. Once again thank you for helping us fight crime and don’t hesitate to call 911 for our help we will respond, for any suspicious person or activity.
Respectfully, Captain Ronnie Robinson Commander Dist. 2 |

Your Observations Pay Off October 1, 2009
Ladies and Gentlemen: Yesterday we were able to interrupt and catch the individuals mentioned below as they were burglarizing one of our homes in the district. Our success was highly enhanced by a 911 call from a citizen that was watching her neighbors home because she noticed the individuals below in her neighbors’ driveway, and thought the vehicle they were using was not familiar. Due to her calling 911 immediately we were able to respond has the suspects were trying to escape. This is exactly what we need from our citizens in order to make us better at what we do. Together we will stop criminals from destroying our neighborhoods. These guys’s are responsible for multiple burglaries in our district. Thank you for helping us!
Respectfully, Captain Ronnie Robinson Commander, Second District |

Burglary and Suspicious Activity Info July 28, 2009 District Two residents, As you are aware burglaries continue to be a main concern in District Two. Here is some information concerning burglaries and suspicious activity occurring in Districts One and Three that could impact District Two if these types of individuals would start operating here. In District One on Sunday evening, 7/26/09, four burglaries occurred. In each of these burglaries the victims answered their door where they were met by a subject who identified himself as an employee of the Laclede Gas Company. Once inside this subject would demand or steal money from the victims. He is identified as a B/M, 5’9”, Med.-Lgt. Complexion, 180-190 Lbs. short afro, clean shaven, wearing a plaid shirt and Khaki pants. Please be advised Laclede Gas Company workers will have proper identification. In District Three, subjects have been reported going door-to-door, posing as GE-Alarm System Salespeople. These subjects are described as W/Ms early 20s wearing white Polo shirts with a GE logo. Please be advised GE was contacted and said they DO NOT use door-to-door salespeople. These are just two examples how some burglars operate. Please keep in mind most people know when someone is expected at their residence. If you have an unexpected visitor, if possible, do not open the door and ask who it is and what they want. If you are suspicious contact the police or the company they are representing. Always ask for identification and keep in mind most companies will not want to send someone to your house unless you requested them. This also goes for people who show up at your house and say they need to use your telephone, your bathroom, or want to cut your grass or perform any other type of work in or around your home. Please contact the police if any type of this activity occurs at your home or in your neighborhood. Keep an eye on your neighbors and in your alleys. DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL POLICE. Garage Burglaries July 9, 2009 Ladies and Gentlemen: We have a cell operating in our district at night committing garage burglaries. They have hit us hard throughout the district between the hours of 12 midnight and 5:00 A. M. Please be mindful and aware of your environment and surroundings, such as suspicious pedestrians or vehicles with occupants that do not live in your neighborhood. To combat this behavior I have authorized a 5 man burglary unit whose sole responsibility is to target these cells. Also this month the Major Thoroughfare Initiative has begun where uniform policeman will target the main arteries of travel throughout the district stopping suspected subjects who prey in and around these avenues of travel looking for opportunities to commit crimes of theft and robbery. I am pleased to announce that an arrest from their efforts was presented to the U. S. Attorney’s Office from a prior Robbery 1st Degree (carjacking) within the district. This suspect was also responsible for two other carjackings from the 3rd district and 8th district. The U. S. Attorney informed the detectives that this suspect will be facing 57 consecutive years for weapons charges alone with additional time added for each robbery. Additionally the Burglary Unit arrested and cleared several burglaries from the Lindenwood Neighborhood obtaining taped confessions from the suspect admitting his involvement along with providing the names of his associates. Charges were issued by the states attorney included Burglary 1st & 2nd, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Robbery 1st and Stealing. With the upcoming events and the large number of visitors coming to our City, I encourage all residents to be aware of their surroundings and report suspicious behavior that comes to your attention.
